Brazil-based OranjeBTC has acquired an additional 16 Bitcoin worth approximately $1.94 million, at an average price of $121,058 per BTC. This latest move brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 3,691 BTC, valued at roughly $389.07 million, with an average cost basis of $105,412 per coin.
The purchase represents a 1.5% year-to-date Bitcoin yield for 2025, reinforcing OranjeBTC’s commitment to Bitcoin accumulation as its primary business model.
Brazil’s First Pure-Bitcoin Public Company
OranjeBTC recently began trading on B3, Brazil’s São Paulo-based stock exchange, making history as the country’s first publicly listed Bitcoin-only company.
The firm debuted on the market holding 3,675 BTC, instantly becoming Latin America’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder. Following its latest purchase, OranjeBTC now owns 3,691 BTC.
Mirroring the “Strategy of Latin America”
The company’s approach follows the “Strategy of Latin America”, modeled after the U.S. firm Strategy, known for issuing convertible debt, raising capital, and reinvesting proceeds into Bitcoin.
On the same day as OranjeBTC’s purchase, Strategy announced the acquisition of 220 BTC for $27.2 million, bringing its total holdings to 640,250 BTC—roughly 3.1% of Bitcoin’s total supply.
Institutional Support and Strategic Backing
Earlier this year, OranjeBTC secured a $210 million investment from Itaú BBA, the investment arm of Brazil’s largest bank, Itaú.
The round also attracted backing from global crypto heavyweights such as Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, Ricardo Salinas, FalconX, Adam Back (Blockstream), and U.S.-based funds Off the Chain Capital and ParaFi Capital.
Notably, Eric Weiss, a former Morgan Stanley banker and early mentor to Michael Saylor, sits on OranjeBTC’s board.
Educating Brazil’s Next Generation of Bitcoin Savers
Beyond accumulating Bitcoin, OranjeBTC is launching an educational initiative designed to teach shareholders and institutional investors about Bitcoin’s monetary properties and long-term potential.
“We want to be an information center and help Brazilians and Latin Americans understand what money is, the role of a tangible asset, and how Bitcoin works,” said Founder Guilherme Gomes in an interview with WIRED en Español.
A New Gateway for Bitcoin Exposure in Latin America
OranjeBTC entered the public market through a reverse IPO, merging with Intergraus, an already-listed entity on B3. Following the transaction, around 85% of shares are in free float, opening the door for both institutional and retail investors to gain direct exposure to a company whose core asset is Bitcoin itself.
B3, which launched Bitcoin futures in 2022, continues to explore crypto custody services, further cementing Brazil’s position as a growing hub for digital asset innovation in Latin America.
