Stablecoin powerhouse Tether is reportedly in advanced discussions to spearhead a massive funding injection into Neura Robotics, a cutting-edge German startup specializing in AI-driven robots.

According to a report by the Financial Times (FT), Tether is poised to lead a funding round of approximately €1 billion ($1.16 billion) for Neura. This potential deal would value the robotics company at an estimated €8 to €10 billion.

  • Soaring Valuation: This valuation marks a significant jump for Neura, which raised €120 million in its last funding round in January.
  • Ambitious Targets: Neura, which develops humanoid robots for industrial use with plans for household expansion, is aggressively aiming to manufacture 5 million robots by 2030. The company has already secured €1 billion in pre-orders.
  • A “Robotics iPhone Moment”: Neura is positioning its products as a potential mainstream breakthrough, akin to an “iPhone moment” for the robotics industry.

The investment reflects Tether’s expanding strategic portfolio, which has recently diversified beyond stablecoin operations into various “frontier tech” sectors, including agriculture and brain technology. Tether reported over $10 billion in profit in the first nine months of the year, driven by its investment of stablecoin reserves.

This news comes amid a global surge of interest in humanoid robotics, as major tech players like Nvidia, Tesla, and SoftBank race to integrate generative AI capabilities into physical machines.
