Forward Industries has officially launched its Solana treasury strategy with the purchase of 6,822,000 SOL tokens.
The acquisition, worth approximately $1.58 billion at $232 per token, represents the largest Solana treasury to date. According to CoinGecko, the previous largest SOL treasury was valued at $474 million, making Forward’s move a significant milestone for the Solana ecosystem.
Backed by Major Industry Players
The purchase follows Forward Industries’ successful $1.65 billion private investment in public equity (PIPE) financing, which closed on September 11. Key participants in the financing include Galaxy Digital, Multicoin Capital, and Jump Crypto. These firms have established reputations within the digital asset sector and are backing Forward’s strategic shift into blockchain.
Dynamic Strategy Beyond Holding SOL
Forward Industries, historically a design and manufacturing company, is pivoting toward the digital asset space with a plan to actively deploy its Solana holdings. Instead of passively holding the tokens, the company has placed all its SOL into staking to generate additional value and support the network.
Building the World’s Largest Solana Treasury
Kyle Samani, Chairman of the Board at Forward Industries, emphasized the company’s vision: “We are building the world’s largest Solana treasury company, a strategy that will both advance the Solana ecosystem and deliver long-term value for our shareholders. We are pleased to make some of our SOL purchases on-chain, which is the first of many activities we expect the Company to do natively on-chain.”
More Companies Follow Solana Treasury Trend
Forward’s announcement comes on the same day as neurotechnology company Helius Medical Technologies revealed plans for its own Solana treasury program. Helius aims to raise $500 million through PIPE financing and an additional $750 million through stapled warrants, backed by Pantera Capital and Summer Capital.
Meanwhile, digital asset treasury pioneer Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has added 525 BTC to its Bitcoin holdings at a cost of $114,562 per token, totaling $60.2 million.
